hello. the user.config is stored in the users Local Settings folder. however, this folder is not stored in a roaming user profile. so when you use it on a network pc, and logoff the local user profile is stored on the network and the local profile is removed. since the local settings is not stored in this profile, you lose the ini every time after logoff. is there a way to let the user.config be stored in a different folder not located in the local setting?

If anybody has any ideas on how to change the location for the user.config, I'm all ears...

Nevermind, I figured out how to do it. It's a little bit complicated though. I also will not be able to store the favorites this way (the encrypted passwords rely on a key that is unique to each computer. Windows roaming profiles will be supported for all application settings come version 2.2. Version 2.3's "Global Favorites" feature will take care of syncing favorites between multiple workstations. Maybe I'll come up with something clever for 2.2 for favorites. Smile! I'll let you know!

Till this problem is fixed a batch file like this one can help people out.
You only have to change to location of the user.config file if you use something else as the H drive
If you use Win7 you have to use "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Avian_Waves\RDTabs.exe*\2*"
as profile folder for the user.config

: Create the correct user.config folder under Local Settings and copy the
: saved user.config to this folder, and start RDTabs

"C:\Program Files\Avian Waves\RD Tabs\RDTabs.exe" IMPORT SETTINGS H:\user.config

c:
cd\
cd "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Avian_Waves\RDTabs.exe*\2*"
copy /Y H:\user.config

"C:\Program Files\Avian Waves\RD Tabs\RDTabs.exe"

utilman - Awesome script. RD Tabs is not an abandoned project. It's just a project on hold. lol. I do make very gradual progress from time to time. I can't give an ETA. Unfortunately, the reality of the economy is that I have to frequently put in 50-60 hour weeks, then I'm busy on other hobbies in my limited time at home. Plus, my wife says I need to pay attention to her from time to time. ;-)

As for this particular feature, it still depends on the issues listed above. I can move the file to the roaming profile, but the machine-specific encryption key is still an issue. Really, the solution is the roaming favorites with a master password feature. The roadmap hasn't changed in that respect.

Thanks for sticking around despite my lack of updates!
