Switching laptops at work to a newer Dell 830 with the NVidia video subsystem. RD Tabs 2.1.21 opens, but I can't see the menu bar options until I move the mouse over it. I also can't see anything in the main window where normally the connection properties/active connection are displayed. If I try connecting to a favorite I can't see the remote desktop, just the same gray box. I'm running XP Pro SP3 and installed the Dot Net Framework 3.5 SP1 w/Family Update. Control Panel shows I have Dot Net 2/SP2, Dot Net 3/SP2 and Dot Net 3.5 SP1. I had been using this on my 630 laptop without issue. Any ideas?

I had tried installing Win 7 RC1 prior to going back to XP and had the same behavior.

Thanks, Joe.

I don't want to just pass the buck without looking into it deeper, but it sounds like it may actually be a video driver or video card issue. I've run into this before with other apps, notably Visual Studio, where a video card swap-out fixed it.

Can you post a screen shot so I can see if it's the issue I'm thinking of?

Posted images back on my first post. I agree it could be the video driver, but the odd thing is it's doing the same thing on both Win7 RC and XP Pro. The Win 7 build used the pre-release drivers from nVidia/Microsoft, but the XP build is using the Dell/nVidia drivers from the Dell support site. Not sure what other drivers I could use other than backreving or trying to find the native nVidia driver rather than the driver on Dell's site. Thanks for any ideas.

Did you change the font size? I had similar issues on a new laptop until I changed the font size back to 96 DPI.

I had it at 120 DPI, but had started at 96 DPI when I first encountered the problem. I tried changing it back to 96 DPI, but same behavior.

That is really weird. I can't replicate that on this end, but I see now what you mean. I may need to send you a build with some extra debugging info to get to the bottom of this.

Do you never see a tab? I know you say the grey box is always there, but what about the tab bar?

The menu bar barfing is very peculiar because that's just a standard out-of-the-box .Net control.

Wondering if this was resolved? I am now seeing the same issue. New laptop (HP EliteBook 8530) Windows 7 x32 for now... Has a ATI FireGL V5700 with latest drivers. Vanilla install of windows 7 other than Latest java, device drivers and avail MS updates applied. Installed RDTabs and I see this same issue. I am also unable to RDP to any servers using RD Tabs. The menus for a new connection are skewed and some things are hidden. If go to settings for default connection properties the windows pops up but the content is "off" like its moved off the window. This is version 2.1.23

Thanks!

Are you using a non-100% DPI (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display)?
