Try this out for me. I think it is even working for alternate credentials... Seriously!

To install: copy the rdpcontrol.dll out of the x86 or x64 folder and into your RD Tabs installation folder, depending on which version you have installed.

http://www.avianwaves.co...ls/rdtabs/rdpcontrol.zip

TO USE:
- Leave username, password, and domain all blank to use the logged on user's credentials.
- Specify username, password, and domain (all must be specified -- none can be blank) to use alternate credentials.

Let me know if anything unexpected happens. I actually had to change a global property in the way RD Tabs talks to the RDP control to get this to work. But I can't believe it's this simple, after all the hours I looked into it before. :-)

ETA: You also have to do all the steps outlined here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/...-server-connections.aspx

Haven't tried it with alternate creds, but it's definitely working for my current user account and if you want to enable it globally so you don't have to worry about specifying FQDNs when connecting (not always a good idea, but the option is there) then just use "TERMSRV/*" when you configure the GPO.

Excellent Timothy!
FYI, all I did is copy your new rdpcontrol file over to the RDTabs folder (I'm running the X86 version on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit). Didn't have to make any GPO changes. I can now connect to desktops and servers with my (configured) alternate credentials again.

EDIT:
My problem is that I didn't read the instructions. I don't need to launch RDTabs as another user. To use alternate credentials I just need to fill out domain, username, and password in the connection details. This is working for me with - no more password prompt using alternate credentials!

ORIGINAL POST:
This sounds really cool, thanks so much for working on this!

For some reason it's not working for me. I'll write out what I'm doing in detail and hopefully my mistake will be clear.

I'm logged into a Win7x64 PC with a Domain User account
I copy/replace .\RDPControl\x86\rdpcontrol.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Avian Waves\RD Tabs\rdpcontrol.dll
I hold SHIFT and right-click RDTabs.exe, choosing "Run as different user"
I authenticate as my Domain Admin account and RDTabs launches
I have no favorites because this is the first time I've run RDTabs as that user on this PC
I fill out:
- Display Name
- Computer
- Check Enable Network Level Authentication
- And leave everything else empty or with default settings
I hit connect and it prompts me for a username/password.

I think I'm missing something about where to configure alternate credentials...

Thanks!
