Dude,

Great tool so much better than MS's remote desktop tool. One issue I have is over the export function. I have around 30 servers, when I select them it syas the export is fine. When I try and import them on another machine only a couple import.

Looking in the xml file it seems the other 27 servers have not exported out. If I try and export one of the servers that did not export out as a group but as a single RDP connection I get " nothing to export"?

Any ideas.

Thanks

Grizzly

That definitely sounds like a bug. Are you using the latest release (1.1.2)? If so, send me a copy of your user.config (under <your profile folder>\Local Settings\Application Data\Avian_Waves\RDTabs.exe_<longGUID>). Use the contact form on the website to send me an initial email and when I reply you'll have my email address to send the attachment too. If you are saving passwords, I recommend making a copy of user.config, turning off the save passwords feature (will clear them out), send me THAT user.config, then replace it with the old one so your passwords come back. I certainly want to fix this problem!

I found the problem. Due to a bug in the way I was checking to see which favorites are being exported, it will not export any favorite whose display name is not identical to the server name. I fixed this bug and it will appear in version 1.1.3, which will be released later today. /:d/

Still getting issues with the import export

I can now export fine (XML doc shows all the servers) but when I try and import it says there is nothing to import

I'll look into it this week. I bet it's the same issue as the export issue, but on the import side. Sorry I missed looking for that. I just assumed import was working fine, but apparently not!

If you use the same "display name" as what is entered in the "remote computer" field, I bet it will work. Export was failing due to the fact that I was looking for selected favorites by comparing the display name to the computer field... obviously, if they are different, they will never match! It's a bug that is due to the fact that RD Tabs didn't start out offering a "display name" option so the code was written to use the Remote Computer field as the primary key for this feature.

I should be releasing a fix a little later this week.
