Hi Timothy,

First. Love RD Tabs, it makes work so much easier.

RDTabs was working great and now suddenly Ive started to experience an issue that I can not seem to get around.

I automate a lot of my tasks and logins so I often use execution flags with RDTabs to open new tabs and automatically log me into the server. Executing RDTABS with the execution flag START SERVER $ip /u:$user /p:$pass /o:$port, no new tab opens up. A little more troubleshooting found if I omit the /p:$pass parameter, the new tab opens and connects as normal albeit without the password so I have to manually login.

I decided to manually try creating a new connection and I can specify all parameters except password. If I specify the password in the dialog box and press connect RDTabs immediately bounces back with the message:

Error Initializing

The type initializer for 'RDPProp.KeyModule' threw an exception.

Leaving the password field blank once again allows me to connect without issue again having to manually enter my password.

This is a bit of an issue for me since my automated tasks and quick shortcuts arent working 100%, I can work around it but its a major nuisance.

Any thoughts on what causing this?

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling RD Tabs (including deleting the data in %localappdata%\Avian_Waves) Ive tried deleting and recreating the default RDP profile and Im still at a loss. Im not sure what changed (as far as I know nothing did but obviously something had to have for it to break) to cause this to suddenly start happening and since Im not 100% sure on exactly when this issue started (there was a gap of several weeks when I wasnt using RDtabs), I really wouldnt have any hope of tracking down the change so Im hoping you might have some insight.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a bug. I'll see if I can replicate and try to get a fix out. I can't promise any sort of timeline, though...

Hi Timothy,

I think the issue may have been my computer/.NET install.

I was trying to run another program yesterday that relies on .NET and also received errors when calling .NET functions. I rekicked my box and I am running a clean version of Win7 and RDTabs is now working with passwords.

Dont know how my .NET install got nuked but it is what it is.

Thanks for taking a look though!
