I just upgraded to the latest version and now all my favorites have vanished. Is there a way to get them back?
I'm not sure what the old version number was but it was in 2.x.
Thanks,
Greg

If you uninstall version 3.x and then reinstall version 2.x, they should all be there. I'm not sure why the transfer failed, but the favorites storage system was redesigned, so the code to upgrade is not as straightforward as older versions. What you can do is after version 2.x installed, you can export all the favorites to a RDTSF file from within the favorites manager, then upgrade RD Tabs again, then import the favorites. You will be all set at that point!

Here's a link to download all versions. https://www.avianwaves.c.../RD-Tabs/RD-Tabs-History

Hi Timothy,
Unfortunately that did not work. I did try RD Tabs 2.1 and 2.0. I recreated the tabs and exported to a RDTSF file. Thanks for a great program. I use it daily.

I'm sorry to hear that. Something must have corrupted the user.config file (the old settings file) in the old RD Tabs. If you need assistance fixing that corruption, I can help, but if you were able to recreate, that's good!

I had the same issue, but just a note as a workaround. From RDtabs 2, make sure you use the unencrypted XML option as the export format (you can save passwords, but I advise storing the export locally and deleting it immediately after successful import), then you can upgrade to RDtabs 3 and import the XML export. Make sure you delete the XML version if you saved the passwords, then you can create an encrypted backup using Export option again from version 3

An issue was reported last week from a user who was unable to import the RDTSF file from 2.x into 3.0 and I discovered a bug that was the cause of this. A patch will be released this weekend to address this issue. So if you need to move favorites from 2.x to 3.0 because the config upgrade process fails, or any other reason, you will be able to use the much more secure encrypted RDTSF file format instead of the raw XML format.
