Is there a way to make it so that I can use a variable for the domain field or if left blank can it assume that the domain name is the same as the computer name? Let me explaine a little about what I mean:

I had all my domains set individually to each computer's name so that they would logon locally. Later on I decided that to make adding users from the domain to the server easier I would use my some credentials to log on to each of the servers. I used the batch tool to make the change so that all the usernames were set to mine and all the domins were set to the domain. this worked great but I came across some situations where if the server couldn't authenticate to the DC I would have to use the local credentials again. Eventually I decided to revert all these servers in my favorites to log on locally again. In the batch edit tool I set the domain to be blank, however intermitently when I log onto a server it still is trying to use the domain instead of the local system.

My second idea is to have the quick search check my favorites so that it can also pull logon information.

Thanks for such an awesome program,
CJ

1. If you leave it blank, it defaults to whatever the server would use if you logged in interactively and didn't change it. Basically, that means it's usually whatever was last used unless the computer is not joined to a domain. But this isn't 100% consistent. This is out of my control. :-(

2. Interesting idea. I'm assuming by search you mean the remote computer field MRU autocomplete?

1. I think I need to explain what I mean a bit better. I think it would be nice if you could make it so that if I am using "Manage Favorites -> Batch Edit Favorites", and I leave the domain field blank; that when I press "Save"; it would auto populate the Domain field with the value in the computer name field. Is that more clear for you?

2. Yes, I believe that we are talking ablut the same thing here. But to be sure, in the top right corner just under the min, max, and close buttons there is a little textbox with the default value "Connect to Server in New Tab" in it. It would be awesome to make it so that if I start typing in that box, if it could query my favorites and when I press enter on it that if the computer that I was typing in there is in my favorites it would auto populate the credential information also.

1. I see what you mean, and that's a very interesting idea. I'll add that to the todo list.
2. I'll have to think on a good way to implement that. Thanks for the suggestion
